Bij de F (rijstand) en V (voorgloeistand) wordt de hevel op de pomp niet bediend. Bij de A (startstand) wordt het heveltje naar achter getrokken, dat zorgt ervoor dat er vol diesel wordt ingespoten tijdens het starten. Bij de S (stopstand) wordt tegen het heveltje aangedrukt, dan wordt er geen diesel meer ingespoten.

Bij de hevel op de pomp zit een verstelmogelijkheid (schroef losdraaien dan kan je afstellen). Stel af in de rijstand, dan moet de hevel vrijwel bovenaan de sleuf zitten. Als je een assistent hebt, kan je het goed controleren, zeker als je de min-klem van de accu los hebt, dan kan je controleren zonder dat de motor start.

Mijn W123 2.2 uit 1976 met trekstarter loopt af en toe door als ik de trekker terugduw en sleutel eruit haal.

Hoe kan dat?
