wordt het volgende gesteld: bij de 4-bak is de overzetting in de 4de versnelling 1,0 (prise directe). Bij een 5-bak wordt de vijfde versnelling langs tandwielen geleid (om de overbrenging 0,81 te bereiken). Dit leidt tot slijtage en daarom gaat de bak niet langer mee dan 250.000 km.

In Duits:
"5-Gang-Getriebe halten leider selten länger als 250.000 km, ohne durch Lagergeräusche auf fortgeschrittenen Verschleiß hinzuweisen. Der Grund ist einfach: beim 4-Gang wird der Antrieb quasi 1:1 durchgeschaltet, während beim 5-Gang im Getriebe noch übersetzt wird. Da zumeist im höchsten Gang gefahren wird, erklärt sich hier der vorzeitige Verschleiß. Natürlich kann man die Getriebe überholen. In Eigenregie ist es maximal möglich, die Wellenlager im Gußgehäuse zu wechseln. Interne Lager und Synchronringe kann nur der Getriebespezialist wechseln, weil die Zahnräder z.T. aufgeschrumpft sind. Im übrigen schalten sich 5-Gang-Getriebe schon im Neuzustand nicht ganz so exakt, wie die 4-Gänger."

Het genot van minder toeren en motorlawaai is enorm fijn: Ik rij een 280TE,
*in z'n 4 maakt de motor 3500 toeren bij 130 km/h
*in zin 5 maakt de motor 3000 toeren bij 130 km/h

De eindoverbrenging van de vierde versnelling is gelijk bij een 4 of 5 bak.

Tip: mocht je er überhaupt eentje vinden, vergeet dan niet de bijbehorende cardanassen erbij te kopen + andere km tellerkabel (langere uitvoering/andere aansluiting). Goed navragen of de bakophanhing ook anders is. Verschil in startmotor verwacht ik niet.

Ik moet zeggen dat ik de 4 bak wel mee vind vallen, ik dacht echt dat ik met gierende motor 120 zou rijden (heb een 200 benzine) maar dat valt eigenlijk wel reuze mee.
