before starting to post in other threads of your forum I would like to know if you accept that I write in English or if I need to find a translator
I'm German and live in France since 10 years now.

My cars: 450SE W116 waiting for restoration, 230.6 W115 in perfect condition, 280CE W123, 290td W210 for everyday driving (together with my BMW 324TD Touring from 1988) and my good old Kadett B Coupe F waiting for big restoration - all automatic gear box with exception of the 280CE which is a 4 gear manual.

Most of the dutch are able to read/speak English. Personally, I look around on foreign MB site's too.

What brings you, as a German, living in France, on a Dutch site? Is it maybe that we have here in the Netherlands a lot of classic-MB-lovers?

Show us some picture's of you collection, sounds like you've a very nice collection of cars!

No problems for me, i understand english very well, but will you be able to understand everything on this forum?

Pics of the cars are always nice, especially with such a collection

One of my best friends live in Roselaere that's why I know what you are talking about but as he speaks perfect German, English and very good French, I did not need to learn flemish.

I also have friends in Roubaix (North of France) and my brother and me cycled from Germany through the Netherlands and Belgium to France and of cause we staied in the youthhostel of Gent (but this is long long ago)
Later on I did this with my Zündapp KS50 watercooled and then with my 2CV and my Ducati Panther....and so on.

Why I want to make part of this Forum? There are several reasons.

In the 70ties and 80ties I went to old motor bike events in the Netherlands (Hengelo and Borger) as my father had old bikes.

I always appriciated this and as today I do not ride motor bikes any more (I had an bad accident in 1986) I like Youngtimer cars.

And here in France I still find cars with not to much rust and I admit that I also try to sell a car from time to time to get some pocketmoney
And as I have my 290td tractor and a Saris trailor I'm even able to transport not driving cars.......

I beleive it is only a big profit for any oldtimer club to have international acquaintance and contacts.
Latelly I bought and importing a Belgium Mercedes Benz 280CE and it came with a French booklet "Notice d'Entretien 280E / 280CE" unfortunately my French is'nt good enough, luckely i've already found and ordered me a Dutch version(didn't come cheap ). So i have no further use for the French booklet. If you happen to know somebody in France searching for this owners manual, you know i have one. If so send me a notice via PM to exchange e-mail adresses.

Thank you for the proposition, I have a French booklet with mine. You should keep it as a souvenir or take it with you for your next holiday in France. Isyour 280CE a manual or automatic?

I rather make an other Benz lover in need happy with this manual, than just keep it on the book shelf or in the car as a souvenir and never realy look at it. But anyway as long as nobody comes along for it, it indeed will be just a souvenir.
