I am still having a problem with my ABS system. Can anyone help.
When starting the car, the ABS system engages and the light goes out. Normally it stays out.
SOmetimes, when the engine is slow running, in particular after a cold start, the ABS light comes on again and then I have to stop the engine and re-start to get the system to re-engage. This is a pain. ALl the wiring, sensors and relays have been checked. The relay behind the Glove box inside the car has been replaced twice. That helps for a month or two, then the system reverts. Whether the lights are on or off makes little difference, but I notice that when the Air Co is running, the problem is worse. Could it be that we are looking into the wrong area. I wondered whether something in the system is causing a volt drop which would switch out the system, but surely as soon as the volts go up again, the system should re-engage?
Its not the first time this problem appears on the MB Forum, but until now, no success. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the system, and techinical knowlege of what each relay (three of them) does. Once solution is to fit a re-set switch in the system, so I can just press a button and the system re-sets without needing to stop the engine. How would this be wired?
If anyone really knows about this, I would be grateful to receive wiring and technical support. Its driving me MAD!
Thank you all again.
